Meanwhile, Lidia Corsini, Angelina’s sister-in-law, quenches her lust for power and wealth by turning in Jews to the ruthless Nazi Police attaché with whom she has formed an alliance. Her spiral into immorality accelerates as swiftly as the Jewish population dwindles, and soon neither her husband nor her son is immune to her madness.
Once Angelina discovers the consequences of Lidia’s greed, she conspires to put an end to the treacheries; but in doing so, she becomes the target of Lidia’s most sinister plot.
Bridge of Sighs and Dreams is a story of betrayal, dignity, and purpose that highlights the brutality toward Italian citizens, under both Mussolini’s Fascist regime and the Nazi occupation, and illustrates the tenacity of the human spirit.
About the Author
Pamela Allegretto, educated at L’Università per Gli Stranieri in Florence, Italy, lives in Connecticut and divides her time between writing, painting, and translating. Her published work includes dual-language poetry books, translations in Italian literary journals, articles in local newspapers, CD covers, and cartoons. Her original art is collected worldwide.

è una Italo – Americana che abita nello stato di Connecticut negli Stati Uniti.
Tanto grande è il suo amore per l’Italia che stupendi panorami di località italiane costituiscono la maggior parte dei suoi disegni.
Per quanto riguarda i lavori artistici pubblicati, Pamela Allegretto Franz ha dipinto illustrazioni di libri, copertine di libri, copertine di CD, fumetti di giornali, ed innumerevoli disegni per importanti testate di stampa divulgativa e culturale.
Alcuni sui lavori artistici, in speciale modo sculture di metallo, preparati in collaborazione con altri illustri artefici americani, sono in mostra prevalentemente nelle gallerie delle isole Hawaii, ma anche in gallerie e musei di varie nazioni del mondo.
I suoi quadri originali sono in bella mostra nelle più accorsate gallerie locali.
Pamela Allegretto Franz ha il privilegio d’essere membro iscritto in prestigiose società di artisti quali la Kona Art Center sull’Isola di Hawaii, la Connecticut River Artisans, e la East Hampton Art Association.
Oltre alla sua eccellente e variegata produzione artistica, Pamela pone la sua formazione intellettuale bilingue a favore di scrittori e poeti italiani per traduzioni di testi dal sicuro valore poetico culturale.

Pamela Allegretto Franz
is an Italian-American who lives in the state of Connecticut in the United States. Her love for Italy is apparent in the stunning panoramas of Italian regions that constitute the major part of her paintings.
Included in her published artwork are: book illustrations, book covers, CD covers, cartoons, and numerous designs for various cultural publications.
Her collaboration with other illustrious Americannartists has produced metal and figure sculptures on display in galleries and museums worldwide. Her original artwork is on display in local galleries.
Pamela Allegretto Franz has enjoyed membership innvarious art societies that include the Kona Art Center on the Island of Hawaii, Connecticut River Artisans, and East Hampton Art Association.
In addition to her excellent and variegated artistic creations, Pamela applies her bilingual, intellectual education to texts that contain certain poetic cultural value.
She has published reviews, bilingual poetry books, and newspaper articles, and has written three children’s books and a novel.
